Under Work Package 4, the Papillons consortium is mobilised to assess the socio-economic sustainability of agricultural plastics (AP)—bridging critical gaps in our understanding of AP impacts on farm economics, social, and environmental costs. This knowledge is essential for informed decisions at both the farm and policy levels.
On October 25, Papillons partners from The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA), Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE), and Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) hosted their first stakeholder workshop in Helsinki, using Finland as a case study to explore the socio-economic impact of APs. The workshop offered a rich exchange of insights, enabling us to consolidate existing knowledge and gather valuable data for our sustainability analysis.
More workshops are on the horizon with key stakeholders from the European farming community.
