European research projects fight against plastic pollution

The World Environment Day 2023 focuses on the growing problem of plastic pollution, spreading the alarm with the global campaign #BeatPlasticPollution.

All over the globe, scientists are studying micro and nano-plastics; thanks tho their small size, these particles are capable of permeating every step of the human food chain, fighter damaging human health.

The European Commission, through the Horizon Europe research programme, is funding projects which tackle micro and nano-plastics pollution and propose innovative solutions to fight this ‘war on plastic‘.
