A presentation by Christoph Rheinberger from ECHA’s (European Chemicals Agency) Risk Management Directorate on the intentionally added microplastics in agriculture.
It addresses how big a problem are these uses and proposed regulatory actions on the stagged ban on intentionally used microplastics in agricultural uses.
It continues with the next steps, which include ECHA’s scientific committees sent expert opinion to European Commission in Jan 2021 and the Commission’s preparation for a proposal for regulatory text and agree with EU Member States by late 2022.
